Health: A Date with Dates

Dating with girls is an old idea as people are now checking out dates, one of the most nutritious fruits in the world, rich in vitamins and minerals.  Dates are natural products taken in raw form, as well mixed with other luscious foods such as deserts.

Eating a date a day is good for balanced diet. Fresh date is soft to eat having digestible flesh with sweet taste. Because of simple sugar such as fructose and dextrose, it helps rejuvenate the body when consumed at once. Many people like to take it with snacks, especially in breakfast.

Date is stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. It is loaded with dietary fibre, which helps prevent dietary LDL cholesterol absorption. This kind of fruit is rich in Vitamin A, which is famous for its antioxidant properties. It is great for vision and helps maintain healthy mucus membranes and skin. The fruit is a good bulk laxative and it can fight against lung and oral cavity cancers.

It is a treasury of minerals such as calcium, sulphur, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper and magnesium. It is a powerhouse of antioxidant flavonoids such as beta carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These antioxidants keep cells and other structure in the body away from oxygen free radicals.
