The key to a balanced diet

A person’s health and well-being are directly proportional to the food that he consumes. A truly balanced diet is the one which will satisfy you, curb your cravings and also will not lead you to overeat. Let us know how we can achieve all this without getting frustrated and confused.

The easiest way to do this will be by incorporating one item from the below mentioned food groups-

1) Milk, cheese yoghurt or other dairy products

2) Poultry, fish, lean meat, eggs, legumes, etc.

3) Fruits and nuts

As each of us is different, therefore our food needs also differ. A person who is physically very active will need to have more food than the others. Also, it is very important to divide your daily food intake into 5 meals and do justice to each one. It is also vital to reduce the amount of salt that you use in your food.

Something about the calories and fats-

A large part of the population believes that calories and fats are harmful and we must avoid them at any cost, but the truth is we need calories to sustain and live, and same can be said with the fats also. The real culprits here are the empty-calorie foods or the food with saturated fats. Things like cakes, cookies, doughnuts, soft drinks, pizzas, ice creams, bacon, sausages, etc. contain empty calories which do not provide any nourishment to the body.

Following a healthy lifestyle and good eating habits will translate into things like a slimmer waist, glowing skin, improved metabolism and greater immunity.
